Imagine finally crawling into bed after finishing the dishes, wiping down the counters, folding the laundry, you’re exhausted. Then the ideas start flowing, your to-do list for tomorrow is running through your brain and you get excited to wake up and start your day.
For me, tomorrow comes and the to-do list I had imagined late last night has disappeared. I’ve lost the motivation. Once I started doing these tips in the morning, I increased my productivity. I accomplished more and in return was motivated to continue tackling my to-do list.
1. Make a list – be intentional and organize your thoughts and your space. I prefer to Bullet Journal my to-do list in my planner. This allows me to carry things over in my planner without having to re-write them. Plus crossing off finished tasks is so rewarding. I try to have 3 bullet lists going at once. One for those tasks that need to be done immediately (within a day), those that need to be done within the week and those that need to be done within the month. If they have a definite deadline I mark that on the Bullet Journal and put it on my calendar. This could be a digital list or pen and paper.
2. Manage your time! This means scheduling out what I’m doing and when. I work better in the evening, after the kids go to bed. Set your time to deep focus. Don’t be distracted by tasks that shouldn’t be done during the time you’ve set aside for work.
3. Batch work. Plan out your work. For example set aside one hour to schedule your content for the month. This will give you a plan and allow you to batch your next task – creating graphics for the month, scheduling posts, following up with customers, etc.
4. Don’t recreate the wheel. It’s okay to recycle and reuse your content. Do you blog? Share the link on Social Media. Older post with relevant information? Repost it. Share to other platforms. Use the post to create a Reel or TikTok Video.
5. Take mental breaks. You can schedule your day but if you need a mental break, take it. You can always adjust the schedule. Give yourself grace.
I hope you found these tips helpful. If you have questions or need help, I’m in your corner and ready to be your best friend.
Your Virtual Bestie,
